THE STORY BEHIND KOLÉNI

Some names are chosen. This one was given.
Koléni is built from three names — Kourosh, Leyla, and Nika. They are my children, and without knowing it, they gave this practice its soul.

Kourosh

Carries the meaning of the sun — energy, drive, leadership. Cyrus the Great (Kourosh) was known not only for conquest, but for wisdom and the elevation of those around him. That is the spirit of performance medicine: the disciplined pursuit of your highest potential.

Leyla

Evokes the night — restoration, stillness, recovery. The hours when the body rebuilds, when discipline becomes rest, and when healing happens in silence. There is no peak performance without this.

Nika

Nika means good. Pure. Victory. It’s the quiet word for what we are all working toward — not just short‑term wins, but sustained wellness that endures.
Together, these three names form the full arc of human health:

I built this practice after years at the intersection of emergency medicine and critical care — and I kept seeing the same gap. People were treated when they broke down. Almost no one was building them up before they did. Koléni Health exists to close that gap.

The name is personal because the work is personal. Health is never an individual pursuit — the people who count on us feel the impact of how we care for ourselves. Choosing wellness is choosing to be present for them. That is the standard we hold ourselves to.
